Courtroom wall braces are oriented perpendicular to the framing, featuring existing joists paired with a 1 3/4" by 9 1/2" laminated veneer lumber (LVL) member. Existing channel sections and blocking are placed on each side of the framing. Existing tie rods extend through the exterior wall to provide lateral support.
