Steel floor beams connect to a structural steel column using a lateral frame moment connection detail. The top flange of the steel beam features a complete joint penetration weld with one-inch returns and weld access holes detailed per AISC 360 standards. A 50KSI steel web plate, sized to the beam web thickness plus one-eighth inch by four inches, connects to the column with three seven-eighth inch diameter erection bolts and five-sixteenth inch fillet welds.
