A brace top connection at a beam-column intersection features a gusset plate bolted to a bracing member and welded to adjacent framing. A one-half-inch minimum stiffener plate is welded to the beam and column using five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides top and bottom typically. The working point is located at the center of the column and one-half of the nominal beam depth from the top flange. Web doubler plates are required per the CoreBrace connection schedule when conditions dictate.
