A wide flange steel column connects to a concrete foundation using a steel base plate secured by anchor bolts, plate washers, and jamb nuts. Half-height leveling nuts sit below the base plate to adjust elevation above the top of the footing. A one-and-a-half-inch layer of non-shrink grout fills the space beneath the base plate, with embedment depth and anchor bolt sizes sized per the foundation plan and column schedule.
