The construction joint includes a steel reinforcing splice across the joint with every other dowel cut per structural notes, maintaining a one-inch minimum spacing. The control joint features a sawn or formed joint cut to a depth of one-quarter of the slab thickness, with saw cuts mandated within twelve hours following the concrete pour.
