A ten-gauge ASTM A641 bracing wire is secured to a bare metal roof deck using a three-inch by four-inch by twelve-gauge minimum bent steel plate. The bent plate is aligned with the wire and fastened to the metal roof deck using two number ten sheet metal screws with lock washers on each screw. The bracing wire loops through a hole in the steel strap with a minimum of four tight turns in one and a half inches.
