A steel beam flange connects to a matching bearing plate with a minimum one-half inch thickness, secured by four three-quarter-inch diameter A325-N bolts. The bearing plate aligns with the beam flange and may extend up to one inch maximum beyond it. Connection geometry maintains an AISC minimum edge distance with three-quarter-inch minimum spacing, utilizing five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds.
