A structural steel column is secured to a concrete slab on grade using a 3/8-inch by 6-inch by 0-foot 6-inch steel base plate. The assembly rests on a 1-inch layer of non-shrink grout beneath the plate for load distribution. Four 1/2-inch diameter expansion anchor bolts with 3-inch hooks and 5-inch embedment anchor the base plate into the concrete slab.
