An open web steel joist and a seven-and-a-half-inch deep girder bear on a steel column with a steel cap plate, secured using two three-quarter-inch diameter erection bolts at each bearing end. Stabilizer plates are positioned below, with bottom chords left unwelded to the stabilizer plates typically unless noted otherwise. A steel deck bears across the top chords and is welded with typical fillet welds. An angle frame made of L6x4x5/16 with the long leg vertical is provided under the mechanical unit curb and around duct openings, with the vertical leg coped at the support and the steel deck welded to the angle frame.
