An open web steel joist and a steel beam with a coped bottom flange bear on a steel column fitted with a steel cap plate. The joist bearing end connects with two 1/2-inch-diameter erection bolts, and the girder bearing end connects with two 3/4-inch-diameter erection bolts. An angle measuring 1-1/2 by 1-1/2 by 1/4 inches and 18 inches long is welded to each side of the beam with a 3/16-inch fillet weld. A stabilizer plate is welded to the column, and the bottom chords are left unwelded to the stabilizer plates unless noted otherwise.
