A tube steel stair stringer bears onto a concrete slab-on-grade with a three-eighths-inch end plate welded to the stringer using a one-quarter-inch fillet weld. An L3x3xthree-eighths by nine-inch long angle supports the assembly, secured with two five-eighths-inch diameter expansion anchors at six inches on center. Alternatively, five-eighths-inch diameter Hilti Kwik Hus-EZ screw anchors or five-eighths-inch diameter Simpson Titen HD screw anchors may be substituted for the expansion anchors per structural notes. A minimum two-inch dimension is maintained and verified with architectural plans, with a one-inch lip at the slab edge.
