An HSS 14x stringer connects to a concrete wall using an embedded bent plate anchored with welded studs. The five-eighths-inch by six-inch by one-foot-six-inch bent plate is secured with four three-quarter-inch diameter by zero-foot-eight-inch welded studs in one leg and two three-quarter-inch diameter welded studs in the other leg with a full penetration weld. The stringer is welded to the embedded plate assembly with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld on three sides typically. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld is applied to the top and bottom typically.
