A wide-flange beam framing into a wide-flange column flange features a gusset plate located on one side of the beam per the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer specifications. The beam web connects using an erection plate matching the minimum beam web thickness with erection bolts at the contractor's option. Complete joint penetration welds secure the beam web and top and bottom flanges. Continuous plates or cap plates match the thickness of the buckling-restrained frame beam flange at the top of the column condition.
