A hollow structural section column is anchored to a concrete curb set at the top of the slab on grade. The column bears on a three-quarter-inch base plate secured by three-quarter-inch diameter anchor rods. A one-and-a-half-inch layer of non-shrink grout fills the space beneath the base plate. Plan configurations illustrate typical, end, and corner plate conditions with specified edge distances and bolt spacings. A five-sixteenth fillet weld connects the column to the base plate assembly.
