Cold-formed steel partitions anchor to an overhead concrete-filled metal deck at the head-of-wall connection. The assembly utilizes 43 mil Clark Dietrich Max Track or approved equal fastened with two number ten self-drilling screws on each side at each stud. A fifty-four mil plate measuring four inches by one foot four inches is secured to the deck flutes with 0.157 inch diameter Hilti powder-actuated fasteners having a one-and-one-quarter-inch embedment spaced at twenty-four inches on center maximum. Lateral bracing is provided by typical 3x3x18 gauge angles four inches long connected with three number ten sheet metal screws on each leg. A half-inch clearance is maintained at the track connection to accommodate structural deflection.
