A hollow structural section member connects to a truss purlin with a 2-1/2 inch depth, detailed with a continuous 18-gauge steel strap secured by two rows of Pneutek pins at beam-nailing spacing. Additional fastening configurations require four lines of pins where nailing is staggered and six lines where three lines of nailing are specified. A splice condition is sized per the structural plans.
