A two-and-one-half-inch lap where sheets bear over a steel joist top chord or similar beam or girder, with fasteners securing the center of the lap through both layers of deck into the structural support below. Adjacent metal deck sheets bearing on a steel beam or girder flange, secured by fasteners per the diaphragm schedule at the support. Both configurations follow fastener spacing per the diaphragm schedule for sheets at the support.
