A hollow structural section beam frames into a concrete screen wall using a ten-inch by ten-inch by three-quarter-inch steel plate embedded in the concrete. The plate is anchored with four three-quarter-inch diameter by five-inch weld studs and two half-inch thick by one-inch by ten-inch stiffener plates attached with full penetration welds. The HSS beam connects to the embedded plate via a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. Metal deck bears on top of the beam as detailed on the framing plan.
