A davit socket pedestal is mounted atop a structural steel beam framing into a column, positioned with an offset as sized per plan. The connection includes a one-half-inch thick by ten-inch wide stiffener plate on each side of the beam web, welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld. Additional one-half-inch stiffener plates are placed between the column flanges and welded to the column web and flanges with three-eighths-inch and five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. A shear tab connects the beam web to the column flange, and the pedestal base plate is welded to the top flange.
