A wide-flange post connects to a wide-flange roof beam using a one-inch base plate welded with an 11/16-inch fillet weld. Four one-inch diameter A490 bolts secure the base plate arrangement. The concrete slab-on-metal deck is omitted from the view for clarity. Alignment is maintained along the centerline of the beam, column, and plate.
