Buckling-restrained braces frame into a continuous steel beam with gusset plates and stiffener plates provided on both sides. A three-quarter-inch by three-inch stiffener plate or full-depth connection plate is detailed on both sides as typical. Fillet welds of five-sixteenth-inch size are specified on three sides at the connection interfaces. Stiffener plates are included as required by the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer.
