A steel beam bears directly on top of a concrete column with a one-inch grout pad leveling layer. A steel base plate sits beneath the beam, anchored by vertical anchor bolts arranged in rows on each side of the beam web. Edge distances and bolt spacings measure two inches from the plate edge and six inches on center. The top of the concrete column establishes the bearing elevation for the assembly.
