A wide-flange steel column bears on a steel base plate of specified thickness over non-shrink grout. Four headed anchor bolts with oversized washers secure the base plate at the corners. A two-inch diameter grout hole is provided to match the anchor bolt hole diameter. Fillet welds connect the column flanges to the base plate, left unwelded in the web "K" region.
