A structural steel beam frames into a column using top and bottom plates sized per typical braced frame flange or web conditions. A vertical connection plate with slip-critical bolts fastens the beam web, secured with a three-sided weld. A gusset plate features a complete joint penetration weld at the top and bottom with designated minimum edge distances and a three-inch on-center bolt spacing. Additional clearances of two inches minimum and half-inch offsets are provided for structural alignment.
