A six-inch diameter standard pipe pedestal supports a davit and fall protection system connection furnished by others. A three-quarter-inch base plate matches the manufacturer's plate requirements and connects with anchor bolts. The pedestal welds to the top of a column with a one-half-inch fillet weld, backed by three-eighths-inch full depth stiffener plates on each side of the column flange. An intersecting beam connects per plan with connections detailed on sheet 17/S5.01.
