A bent canopy plate projects from an exterior cold-formed steel jamb wall, supported by fin plates at each end. A one-half-inch back plate connects to the jamb wall using number twelve screws, with the cold-formed steel studs assumed to be fifty-four mil or greater in gauge. The connection transfers allowable stress design reactions of five hundred pounds shear and eleven hundred fifty pound-feet moment at each fin.
