A bent steel closure plate bears on a structural steel beam supporting a metal roof deck at a building overhang. The closure plate thickness varies from 3/16 inch to 5/16 inch based on the overhang length, with a minimum bend radius of 1.5 times the plate thickness. A 3/16 inch fillet weld with a 2-12 spacing connects components where indicated. Clearances of 3/4 inch are maintained at brick veneer, curtain wall, or steel stud framing, and 1 1/4 inch at precast framing. Bypass framing is provided as required per architectural drawings.
