A precast concrete column base bears on a reinforced concrete erection pad with a 3-inch clear cover. Three number 5 minimum reinforcing bars span the upper connection zone across a three-quarter-inch pour joint. The erection pad size and thickness are sized per schedule with a 2-inch offset step.
