This connection utilizes a 1-inch thick A572 Grade 50 steel plate passing through a hollow structural section column. The beam is connected to the plate via an erector option providing a maximum of three 3/4-inch diameter A325 bolts with a minimum 8-inch spacing. The plate is welded to the column with a 3/8-inch fillet weld typical, and a 5/16-inch fillet weld on three sides with a minimum length of 1 foot 8 inches. The plate is positioned with a maximum 2 1/2-inch edge distance from the beam flanges.
