A concrete masonry unit bond beam wall intersects perpendicular to steel roof deck framing supported by wide-flange beams or roof joists. An HSS6x3x5/16 member spans continuously between roof members at a maximum spacing of eight feet on center. L6x4x3/8 angles measuring one foot long are welded with quarter-inch fillets typical at each deck flute. A fire-rated compressible filler is installed at the top of the masonry wall beneath the roof deck. Channel sections MC6x15.3 are placed on each side of the CMU wall.
