Steel beams connect to the flange of a structural steel column using a welded shear tab. The shear tab is welded to the column flange with a fillet weld sized per schedule 6/S1.04 plus one-sixteenth of an inch. The beam web bolts to the single plate shear tab with a first row of bolts sized per note two and a matching second row of additional bolts.
