A galvanized steel angle or bent plate supports a brick veneer wall assembly in front of exterior steel stud framing and sheathing. Veneer anchors tie the brick back to the wall assembly per structural specifications. The support angle is attached with a one-eighth-inch fillet weld to the web side of the stud flange at each steel stud, as specified by typical welding notes. A stud header and supplementary framing members stabilize the opening.
