Cold-formed steel wall framing is stabilized with a typical bridging detail utilizing double flat straps and solid track blocking. A 2-inch by 33-mil flat strap runs horizontally at a maximum spacing of 4 feet on center on each side of the wall where no sheathing is provided. Wall studs secure to each strap using minimum number 10 screws as required. Forty-three-mil track blocking is installed at the ends of the strap and intermittently at a maximum of 8 feet on center. Track blocking is fabricated by cutting the flange and bending the web, secured to each stud with three number 10 sheet metal screws.
