A four-by-four or four-by-six purlin connects to framing supported by a Simpson F series hanger. A galvanized steel strap is installed over the sheathing typically at four feet on center, centered on the purlin unless noted otherwise. A Simpson MST60 strap is also provided at four feet on center per the roof plan for extent. Two rows of continuous edge nailing are required on the strapped four-by members.
