A concrete slab is poured over a metal floor deck with shear studs welded through the deck into the top flange of the supporting steel beams. Number four reinforcing bars, six feet long, are placed at sixteen inches on center over the interior beams framing into the column. The steel beams are sized per the structural framing plan.
