A 3/8-inch steel bearing plate designated as PL1 is anchored with twelve #6 reinforcing bars measuring 10 feet long and conforming to ASTM A706. The bars are welded to the underside of the plate using typical 3/8-inch fillet welds with E80 electrodes. The plate measures 2 feet 2 inches long by 11 inches wide, with symmetrically spaced anchor bars centered on the beam centerline.
