A vertical tie rod passes through a bearing plate resting on a parallel strand lumber blocking member at the top of a full height shear wall. Boundary studs are positioned on each side of the assembly with sizing per the tiedown schedule. A double two-by top plate and triple-x sole plate frame the floor level. Floor joists are supported by Simpson hangers off the side of the parallel strand lumber blocking. Compression studs are connected to the bridge blocking using sixteen-penny nails at six inches on center each side.
