A concrete slab on grade transitions into a thickened edge condition adjacent to a closure pour or continuation slab. The edge features a sloped thickening dimensioned with a six-inch transition zone followed by a one-foot flat bearing width, terminating in a two-inch minimum vertical concrete face.
