A non-bearing concrete masonry unit wall connects at a concrete slab edge with a one-inch gap filled with fire caulking as required. Full-height dowels with standard hooks extend from the concrete slab into the concrete masonry unit wall cells, complemented by horizontal reinforcing and additional continuous number five bars. Top reinforcing consists of number four bars at four feet zero inches long spaced at twelve inches on center with standard hooks and one and one-half inch clear cover. A separate section view has the masonry wall terminating against a concrete column or wall with a specified joint gap.
