A new galvanized W12 structural steel member connects flange-to-flange to a supporting new galvanized W12 member using complete joint penetration welds at the top and bottom flanges. A bolted connection joins the web using three half-inch diameter galvanized high-strength bolts of type A315-SC. The web connection utilizes a bracket or plate secured to the supporting column flange.
