Metal deck bears over a supporting structural steel joist, beam, or girder with diaphragm fasteners spaced per the diaphragm schedule on the structural sheets. A standard perpendicular support uses a single line of fasteners into the support flange. A perpendicular strut location requires two rows of fasteners into the support flange as detailed on the structural plan.
