A structural steel WT shape is trimmed to fit the metal deck flutes and welded to the supporting beam flange. Shear studs of three-quarter inch diameter are placed at twenty-four inches on center unless otherwise noted on plan. The web thickness of the WT section matches the beam web thickness with a maximum limit of three-quarters of an inch. A construction joint detail accommodates the slab on metal deck condition adjacent to the structural framing.
