Floor and roof deck openings between thirteen and twenty-four inches wide are reinforced with hollow structural sections placed on each side of the opening. The hollow structural sections attach directly to the metal deck flutes and extend a minimum of three flutes past each end of the maximum twenty-four inch hole.
