This structural section details a thickened concrete slab and concrete curb bearing on WT filler beams and structural steel framing. The assembly features a topping slab reinforced with 6x6-W1.4xW1.4 welded wire fabric and number three reinforcing bars at twelve inches on center each way where the slab is thickened more than three inches. A built-up WT shape with plate thickness matching the beam web and flange—with a minimum thickness of one-half inch—serves as a filler beam, stiffened with three-eighths-inch stiffeners each side at four feet on center welded with quarter-inch fillet welds all around. A sixteen-gauge Z-closure and number four Z-bars at sixteen inches on center with number four continuous top and bottom reinforcing bars are integrated at the curb transition. High-density foam is provided beneath the slab when the total thickness exceeds ten inches including the deck.
