A concrete housekeeping pad sits atop a slab on grade with a maximum height of 8 inches, featuring a coordinated location and extents with mechanical equipment. The slab reinforcing consists of number 4 bars at 12 inches on center each way, transitioning to number 4 bars at 24 inches on center at the perimeter of the pad. A typical lap splice connects the reinforcement, with dowels extending into the slab preparation. Contractors have the option to drill and epoxy dowels with 4-inch embedment in lieu of standard bent dowels.
