A buckling-restrained brace connects to a wide-flange steel column at the strong axis using a full-height gusset plate and a bolted lug connection. Stiffener plates are welded to each side of the gusset plate matching the width and thickness of the beam flange. Additional stiffener plates are provided on the near side and far side of the column web as required by the manufacturer. Beams frame into the column flanges with shear tabs and bolts. Full-height gusset thickness and attachment design are provided by the corebrace manufacturer.
