A structural steel hanger column terminates with a five-sixteenth-inch cap plate welded at the bottom with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld. Steel beams sized per plan frame into the hanger column using typical connections with bolted web plates. The hanger extends further at similar conditions per drawing notes. A one-half-inch clearance is maintained at the base connection.
