A steel gusset plate designed by the brace supplier connects the diagonal brace to the structural members, with the option for a full-height gusset plate in lieu of a beam haunch. Transverse web stiffeners are provided as required by the brace supplier. Complete joint penetration (CJP) welds are specified typically at the beam and column flanges. The metal deck is omitted from this detail for clarity.
