This assembly consists of a two-foot diameter reinforced concrete pier supporting a steel post via an eleven-inch by eleven-inch by three-quarter-inch base plate. The base plate is secured with three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts providing a minimum twelve-inch embedment on an eight-inch square pattern. Where the pier lands on a mat foundation, the connection utilizes three-quarter-inch diameter Hilti HAS rods with HIT-HY200 adhesive and a minimum six-inch embedment. The pier is reinforced with ten number six vertical bars and number three ties spaced at twelve inches on center, with three ties concentrated in the upper twelve inches. A one-inch thick layer of non-shrink grout is placed beneath the base plate, and the pier top is set relative to the finished grade as referenced in civil drawings.
