An HSS 6x6x1/4 hollow structural section column extends downward through a finish slab and anchors directly into a concrete footing. The embedded base of the tube is fitted with four 1/2-inch diameter by 5-inch long welded anchor studs. A closure plate caps the top of the column. The concrete footing measures 24 inches square or in diameter and sits 3 feet below the finish slab.
